Unity is a concept that has evolved out of one woman's vision, raised in South Central Los Angeles, inspired out of a need to become a part of the solution during the aftermath of the Los Angeles civil unrest of 1992. I wanted to create something material or symbolic to galvanize the people, not just in Los Angeles but nationwide. Something that would serve as a reminder that we are all one and equal. Society had been damaged and it was time to focus on human repair.....the people not the buildings. The buildings hadn't suffered discrimination, racism, despair, hunger, unemployment, brutality, and injustice. It was the people. Thus, the "Unity" bracelet was born.

Since 1992, the "Unity" bracelet has been sold through mail order, speaking engagements and various business expos. However, over the last several years the bracelet has been upgraded and the product line has been expanded to include caps, tee shirts, tote bags, jackets, etc. Attached or enclosed with every item is a product card that explains the mission and purpose of the unity concept. The primary objective is to produce quality "unisex" products that symbolize and promote racial harmony.

All merchandise is beautifully embroidered or embossed with the "Unity" logo. The "Unity" logo is composed of five interlocking links, that form a chain. The links are Black, Brown, Red, White, and Yellow representing the five colors of mankind. The sequence of the colors are in alphabetical order. The logo symbolizes the unification of all races, as I believe God created us to be.

We live in a society that is constantly looking for the latest fad or trend to latch onto. The "Unity" concept aim is not to make a fashion statement but an ethical state for all mankind. It is not a fad, it is a lifestyle whose only requirement is a willingness and commitment to the upliftment of all people. Racism, hatred and discrimination exist worldwide. These products symbolize peace, love and harmony. On a larger scale they represent racial celebration and cultural appreciation.
